Converging classroom projects with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and Canada’s 2030 Agenda.
WHAT ARE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS?
In 2015, Canada and 192 other Member States of the United Nations, businesses and civil society adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development: a global framework of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with 169 targets to build a better world for people everywhere and the planet.
GOALS & BADGES
Your students can earn Brilliant Badges along with creating SDG solutions.
Visit the Brilliant Badges page to see what skills your students can learn while solving some of our world's greatest problems.
What lies ahead are a collection of prompts that are meant for you to use as you see fit. We were thrilled to take some time to work with 14 teachers from across New Brunswick and create this list. We are committed to the informal spontaneity created by asking "what if?" We hope that this resource will be used to inspire discussion among teachers, students or a larger community. Another option would be for teachers to use these prompts as project inspiration for their classrooms. Please let us know how you use these and more importantly, what are your "what if?" moments?
PROJECTS, PROTOTYPING & MORE!
Brilliant Labs will be developing SDG projects and challenges to help students participate in meeting the 2030 targets.
We have a tremendous opportunity in Atlantic Canada right now to connect youth with the UN SDGs, to spark action through learning in an authentic and impactful context and create innovative solutions and develop growth mindsets. Engaging our young people to boldly solve real problems in the biggest and brightest plan to improve the lives of people everywhere and transform the world, will help to mobilize Canada’s efforts. Together, we can play an active role in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development!
