SUMMER CAMPS 2022!

Welcome to Summer and Brilliant Labs camps.  These are FREE virtual sessions for grades 1+.  Youth can learn online from anywhere that has an internet connection.  These week long sessions include coding, bio-making,  video game design, YouTube channel creation,  or special interest courses like animation or cybersecurity and so much more!

Week 1: July 5 - July 9

Coding your World: Learn how code is all around you and how you can code your own programs. 10:00 – 11:00: Grades 1-3; 11:00-12:00 (ADT) Grades 4+Register by: June 28th

Week 2: July 12 - July 16

Maker Fun: Create solutions to everyday problems using everyday materials in this fun-filled week of hands-on activities! 10:00 – 11:00: Grades 1-3; 11:00-12:00 (ADT) Grades 4+; Register by: July 5th

Week 3: July 19 - July 23

Engineering Your World: Learn what Engineers do. How they use the engineering design process, and the many available careers in engineering as you learn to engineer your own designs! 10:00 – 11:00: Grades 1-3 ; 11:00-12:00 (ADT) Grades 4+; Register by: July 12th

 

Week 4: July 26 - July 30

Think Like A Computer:  Explore and learn about how computers and robots think and develop fun projects! 10:00 – 11:00: Grades 1-3 ; 11:00-12:00 (ADT) Grades 4+;  Register by: July 19th

 

Week 5: Aug 3 - Aug 6

Going Green with Making: Learn about environmental responsibility and bio-design! 10:00 – 11:00: Grades 1-3; 11:00-12:00 (ADT) Grades 4+; Register by: July 26th

Week 6: Aug 9 - Aug 13

Game On!: We all love video games. What if you could learn to code, create, and play your own game with a social purpose and then code it or build it? 10:00 – 11:00: Grades 1-3; 11:00-12:00 (ADT) Grades 4+; Register by: August 2nd

 

Week 7: Aug 16 - Aug 20

Space Exploration: Learn about space, space exploration, and astronauts while using your creativity to develop and design fun projects! 10:00 – 11:00: Grades 1-3 ; 11:00-12:00 (ADT) Grades 4+; Register by: August 9th

SPECIAL INTEREST CAMPS

August 9th - August 20th (2 weeks)

Unity 2D: Learn the basics of  Unity 2D and how to create their own pacman game that friends & family can play. System Requirements: Windows. OS: Any modern OS. Processor: 1.1 GHz Processor. Memory: 2 GB RAM. Additional: Requires web browser. Grade 6+; 1:00-2:00pm (ADT)

July 12th - July 16th

Entrepreneurship:  Do you have a business or invention idea? Do you have a game, app, service, or product you are looking to develop but need help?  This camp is for you.  Come with your ideas and let us help you make them reality! Grades 4; 1:00-2:00 pm (ADT)

July 26th - July 30th

Create Your Own YouTube Channel: Hey-guys!” Watching YouTube is ok, but being on YouTube with your own channel is Brilliant! Learn everything you need to know to get started on making your own content, developing your brand, and engaging your audience.  1:00-2:00 pm (ADT); Grade 6+

Cybersecurity Part 1: Learn about internet safety and privacy as you learn about the exciting world of cyber security! Learn to protect our computer and network from hackers! 1:00-2:30 pm (ADT); Grade 6+; System requirements: Dual core CPU or better; 4GB RAM but 8GB is recommended; At least 2GB of free storage space is required; Keyboard and mouse is required; Windows 10 or Mac OS; Reliable Internet connection; TeamViewer Software

Aug 3 - Aug 6th

Cybersecurity Part 2:

This is the continuation of our Cybersecurity: Part one course. This course provides an in depth look at how hackers target and compromise systems. Learn about penetration testing, data encryption, and advanced malware detection so you can analyze and detect malicious threats through creating a virtual escape room! 1:00-2:30 pm (ADT); Grade 6+; System requirements: Must have taken Cybersecurity:Part 1 and must have TeamViewer software installed. Dual core CPU or better; 4GB RAM but 8GB is recommended; At least 2GB of free storage space is required; Keyboard and mouse is required; Windows 10 or Mac OS; Reliable Internet connection; TeamViewer Software

Aug 9 - Aug 13th

Animation: Learn the basics of 2D and 3D animation while using your creativity! 1:00- 2:00 pm (ADT); Grade 6+; Computer Requirements:  64-bit dual core 2Ghz CPU with SSE2 support; 4 GB RAM; 1280×768 display; Mouse, trackpad or pen+tablet; Graphics card with 1 GB RAM, OpenGL 3.3; computer less than 10yrs;

St. John’s Code Camp:  Join us at Keyin College on Topsail Road, St. John’s NL for FREE Coding Camps for 6 weeks this summer! Each week will have a different theme like Micro:bit/MakeCode, b.Board, Makey-Makey/Scratch, 3D printing, and more!
