A New Year, New Ideas to Bring to Life
Dear educators and families,
The start of a new school year marks the beginning of a new adventure: new ideas to explore, projects to imagine, and opportunities for students to learn through experimentation. This year, Brilliant Labs will once again support school communities with experiences that put creativity, technology and discovery at the heart of learning.
This fall, the Brilliant Blue Global Challenge will take place October 16–18 in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Young people will come together around a shared challenge: imagining solutions to better understand, protect and preserve our oceans. It’s an opportunity to see what young people can accomplish when they put their ideas, skills and creativity toward a real-world challenge.
To help kick off the new school year, discover our 2026–2027 Teacher Programming Guide, filled with resources and ideas to bring more experimentation and hands-on learning into your classroom activities.
May this new school year be the starting point for countless projects, discoveries and new ideas.
Warmly,
The Brilliant Labs Team

Summer Highlights: 2026 Summer Camps
This summer, Brilliant Labs Summer Camps gave young people across Atlantic Canada the opportunity to create, experiment and learn by doing.
Over several weeks, campers explored robotics, coding, artificial intelligence, science, the environment, making and much more. Each camp was a new opportunity to take on challenges, work as a team and turn an idea into a hands-on project.

Brilliant Blue Global Challenge: October 16–18, 2026
“Bold ideas for tackling the challenges facing our oceans”
This fall, young innovators from around the world will come together in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, for the Brilliant Blue Global Challenge 2026!
From October 16–18, at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography, teams will explore ocean-related challenges, develop their ideas and present creative solutions to real-world environmental issues.
Brilliant Blue puts young people at the heart of innovation. Through collaboration, creativity and hands-on learning, participants turn their ideas into prototypes and explore how science, technology and design can contribute to a more sustainable future.
The Challenge will also bring together young people, mentors, educators and partners around one shared question: How can we imagine new solutions for our oceans and our planet?
We invite you to be part of this global event, either in person or online, and support the next generation of innovators as they take on some of the biggest challenges of our time.
