Holiday Mico:bit Message
Project Title Goes Here
Easy to follow instructions
'Tis the season for sharing holiday scrolling micro:bit messages!
Looking for a way to spread some holiday cheer? Create your own scrolling message to display some cheery wishes for the holiday season on some micro:bits!
To trigger your holiday message, first we need to create a remote using the micro:bit. First, you need to set your group so that your other micro:bits will respond when you send out a message.
Now we can code an arrow to flash on the remote directing someone to push the “A” button, which would trigger the scrolling message on the other micro:bits.
Next, let's create the Button A to trigger your scrolling message.
Create A Variable
Next we have to create a variable to represent the message you are going to send.
This is the variable you created ↓
Now you can program 4 Micro:bits to create your scrolling message.
You can also add a shining snowflake at the end (repeated twice for effect) and a “clear screen” block.
The exact same as above, but add a pause at the beginning, 1 second is almost perfect
The exact same, but add a pause at the beginning, 2 seconds this time.
4 seconds and so on and so on.
1. Students will share and present the stories they created.
2. Students will be given time to reflect on their writing project and share their individual thoughts about using the Micro:bit in a journal or other written piece.
